Ohana was easily one of the most incredible places that I have ever stayed at in my life. It is not a house but an ocean-front resort that is close to a beautiful beach, great waves, and a fun clubhouse with delicious food. The pool area was also a plus for the non-surfers of the group. I stayed with several friends and we all had a blast. The hose was also super accommodating, responsive, and helpful with recs.

Wow! That's the best way to describe Villa Ohana! This is not just a regular vacation destination... this is an experience of a lifetime. I've traveled all over the world but this property, resort and country is absolutely underrated & might be my favorite along with St. Barth's! So when you first arrive at the property you are drawn in by the perfection of the property lay-out & one of the most valuable property lots in this gated, resort community. You are a three minute walk (no joke) from the restaurants and main clubhouse area. You are on the ocean and if you are a surfer, like to fish, or just love swimming & watching waves & nature you will be in paradise. The rooms are well decorated, spacious & you literally feel like you're in a $10M+ mansion with empty lots on both sides; so the level of privacy is ideal. David & Gloria take care of the property so you don't have to stress over the minor stuff. They are both warm and loving people. We even had Gloria make us a traditional Nicaraguan dish for lunch (see pics/video below). That was incredible! David was our guide who resides on a separate house on the property & helped us out tremendously during our stay. We hugged both of them when we left, because we truly thought of them as friends after a week. Please tip them well. They go above and beyond for you during your stay. The breeze and lack of humidity makes it so you don't really need to use the AC much. I know that sounds crazy from someone like me coming from S. Florida, but it's true. You can literally sleep outside on the grass outside if you wanted to! Rancho Santana is a premier resort with only monstrous homes and the highest construction standards. The roads are mainly dirt so definitely get an SUV. AWD is ideal, but you can get away without it unless you want to climb the remote hills in this enormous community. They have so many remote beaches with no one on them and 4 farm to table restaurants; which we frequented often. Right outside of the community is Popoyo which is a surfing destination. We enjoyed many days walking from our property to that area & had cheap, local food that was incredible. We felt so safe there. We didn't have a single incident that felt uncomfortable or sketchy. This is a highly desirable area & as someone who lives in a gated, secure community it felt like the good old days where you didn't need to lock your doors or worry about crime. It was a very genuine, comforting experience that exceeded our expectations. Go here & you won't regret it. We love Nicaragua and will be back later this year. What a wonderful place to escape to! Staying at Villa Ohana, with its amazing views, unbeatable waterfront location and first-class amenities, has gifted my husband and I with the most unforgettable memories. David and Gloria, their onsite caretakers, were outstanding too. They were very friendly, attentive and kept the property at its best condition. It was a pleasure to be greeted by their smiling faces each day. Rancho Santana Inn is literally next door - which is very convenient for dining at the La Finca y El Mar and/ or going to the in-house tienda (market) to buy a few supplies. We definitely can’t wait to spend another blissful week (or two) here in the very near future.

Staying at Ohana was such a special experience. For our group of eight Ohana provided everything we needed and more. First of all, the location is absolutely perfect. It really doesn’t get any better. Ohana has a unique and thoughtful layout, that lends itself well to letting groups enjoy common spaces but also provides enough space and privacy for all. There is just the right amount of indoor and outdoor space. With ocean front views, a beautifully landscaped garden, and an infinity pool everything you need is at Ohana. Highly suggest doing the meal plan as well for delicious meals that are prepared on-site. Ohana is a slice of paradise, and a very special place. We will definitely be back!
