Montefresco: Managua, Nicaragua
This house masks its large size through a cleverly divided floor plan which weaves exterior spaces with a collection of small buildings, each of a different character and size. Sited on a small bluff overlooking thick jungle, sensitive integration with a large, existing grove of trees was very important with the project. Buildings are sited such that together with the grove and the placement of walls, fences, and plantings, there is a sense of both protection and perspectival freedom. All materials used in the construction of this residence are sustainable.
