Landscaping and Laying a Lawn at Hacienda Iguana
The landscaping part of the job involved the levelling of the site and the bringing in of 20 truck loads of topsoil as fill and to give the grass a good base to grow on. The existing soil type had a high clay content which would not have supported grass growth. With the site levelled and a 5cm base of topsoil down we sent three truckloads (1,000 square meters) of turf from our farm in Masaya down to the site. Newly laid turf needs lots of water and shouldn't be cut until its been down for at least 3 months. Regular rolling is desirable to achieve a nice flat lawn.
